Prospective tenants

The Epsom Common Allotments site:

The Epsom Common Allotments site is situated on Christchurch Road, Epsom and covers an area of approximately 2.34 hectares (23,400 m2), which comprises of plots, access roads and paths. There are around 200 plots of various sizes ranging between 50 m2 and 200 m2.

The site has been cultivated as allotments for over 100 years, and although it has a clay subsoil, the sloping site drains well, is mostly easy to work, and produces good crops. Mains water is supplied at a good pressure throughout the site to 15 standpipes with taps to which hoses can be fitted for watering plots. Water butts are also sited at the taps. There is a Portaloo toilet on the site.

Inevitably, crops will need protection against the usual diseases, insects and birds, but more substantial measures are recommended for some crops because of deer which are regular visitors from the nearby Common. There is also activity by moles but this is only a minor nuisance.

Interested in leasing a plot?

The site is managed by Epsom and Ewell Borough Council and all enquiries about leasing plots should be directed to the council, for more information see:
